The Discriminating Therapist: Hypnosis in Enhancing Decision-Making
In this online presentation we will look at people through the lens of cognitive style and HOW they make the choices they make. Instead of following the therapy tradition of analyzing WHY someone makes the choices they make, The Discriminating Therapist focuses on how people choose. We will especially focus on what they failed to either notice or discriminate in their global response to some circumstance and on over-general thinking utilizing hypnosis.
This presentation will be part of the 49th annual workshop in clinical hypnosis sponsored by The Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis
Dr. Yapko will provide this workshop on The Discriminating Therapist: Hypnosis in Enhancing Decision-Making over 3 days as follows:
Thursday, June 17, 2021 6:00pm -9:00 pm (Central Standard Time)
Friday, June 18, 2021 9:00am -3:00 pm (Central Standard Time) with an hour lunch break

This is Phase 1 (OPEN to new participants) of a multi-phase training and participants must register for the entire training to participate. There is no partial attendance. Once the training begins on January 26, 2022, no new participants may join this course.
This 100-hour clinical hypnosis and strategic psychotherapy course is a comprehensive training for health care professionals only to learn and integrate the skills of clinical hypnosis into their practice.
Traditionally, we have offered this course as an in-person live event in the beautiful coastal city of Carlsbad, California. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.S. in March, 2020 it prompted us to complete our 2020 100-Hour training online. It proved to be a much better experience than we were expecting and participants were pleased to have completed the training in this way. As a result, we are conducting our 2021 training online and the feedback to date has been great appreciation for the opportunity to be able to participate since the in-person option would not have been possible for many of the participants. We have made the decision that this online option remains most desirable for 2022.
The small group cohesiveness becomes an integral part of this training experience as no new participants can join the group once it begins. Michael Yapko's structured approach to teaching, his humor and emphasis on practical and hands-on learning makes this an outstanding professional and personal experience. Despite concerns that the online format would interfere with the group cohesiveness and practice sessions, that has not been the case. We are able to maintain the small group practice sessions and participants get alot of practice with each other deepening their connection.
