7:30 – 9:30 PM EDT for the second HIE (Hypnotic Idea Exchange): Helping Manage COVID-19 Uncertainty & Ambiguity.

PLEASE REGISTER (SEE BELOW) BY FRIDAY, MAY 29th. This meeting is offered as a free service to ASCH, component section members and clinical hypnotherapists and is hosted by the North Carolina, Northern Virginia and Eastern ASCH Component Sections.

Today, as we continue to experience a pandemic of unprecedented scale, clinicians who are skilled in hypnosis possess a powerful tool to help people manage the ambiguities of COVID-19. Also, those who employ hypnosis in their work are discovering yet another challenge of unprecedented scale – the opportunity to personalize hypnotic ideas, stories, suggestions and metaphors in ways that will help their clients navigate the uncertainties of this evolving crisis.

This meeting will bring together leading experts and practitioners of hypnosis to discuss COVID-related ambiguity and uncertainty and how to help people cope. It will offer participants: 1) a set of practical ideas from a panel of experts – ideas that can be readily applied in their hypnotic work as well as their own lives, 2) a forum to share creative hypnotic ideas of their own with each other and the panel, and 3) virtually, a source of professional community and camaraderie during these unprecedented, uncertain and unfathomable times.

Panel of Experts
Michael Yapko, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist in Fallbrook, CA, will present the topic of All We Don’t Know About COVID-19: Addressing the Risk Factor of Ambiguity in Hypnosis. He will detail a hypnosis strategy for helping clients recognize and better tolerate ambiguity. Dr. Yapko is author of the seminal text Trancework.

Daniel Radesca, MD, Director, Uruguay Hypnosis Center, Montevideo, Uruguay, International Consultant, and Member of The Eastern Society of Clinical Hypnosis (TESCH) will present iTRADE: A Self-Hypnosis Technique to Reduce Stress in Uncertain Times – a technique Dr. Radesca created for health professionals.

Dana Lebo, Ph.D., Psychologist in Chapel Hill, NC, will present the topic In Uncertain Times “My Voice Will Go with You.” She is President of the North Carolina Society of Clinical Hypnosis (NCSCH), an Executive Coach, Brain & Body Health Consultant & author of Ace the Essay: How to Master the Timed Writing Process.
