To paraphrase psychologist Paul Watzlawick on communication, “You cannot not suggest.” So let’s make those suggestions with thoughtfulness and expertise. Regardless of your discipline, form of practice, and theoretical orientation, you likely work with depressed people. Whether or not we use formal hypnosis in our work, we are continually influencing our clients in a variety of helpful and unhelpful ways through intentional and unintentional suggestion; language is powerful. This workshop provides a collection of informative and powerful tools for helping you understand and utilize suggestion and direction in the service of helping those with depression.
