Complaint Procedures For Training Programs
Dr. Yapko and Associates is committed to conducting all educational program in strict compliance with the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists. Dr. Yapko and Associates complies with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content, and the treatment of all program participants. The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards is the responsibility of the Director of Continuing Education and course administrator, Diane Yapko, M.A., in consultation with Dr. Yapko.
Beyond complying with the APA’s guidelines, Dr. Yapko and Associates is committed to the full satisfaction of every attendee in the training programs we provide.
In the event you are dissatisfied with some aspect of course administration, course content, or course delivery, you are encouraged to make the specific nature of your grievance known at the earliest possible time in order to allow for prompt attention and the possibility of reaching a rapid and satisfactory resolution.
Communicating your concern about course content or delivery directly to Dr. Yapko, either verbally or in writing, is the first-line approach toward problem identification and resolution for a complaint. If this is deemed undesirable for any reason, the next alternative would be to communicate the concern directly to Diane Yapko, the course administrator, either verbally or in writing. Diane will then forward the complaint to Dr. Yapko within 24 hours for his prompt attention and to begin developing a viable path towards resolution.
Should you prefer not to register the complaint with either Diane Yapko or Dr. Yapko, you can contact our designated program advisor who can then forward the complaint to either Diane or Dr. Yapko. The current suggested advisor to contact is educational specialist Wendy Horowitz, M.Ed. (nourish@sbcglobal.net).
A complaint concerning a workshop offering, content, or facilities, may be resolved by: 1) a discussion and integrating suggested modifications; 2) by agreeing to modifications for future offerings, 3) by providing an alternative training opportunity should that be possible or desirable; or 4) a course tuition refund.
If the complaint cannot be resolved by the above plan, Dr. Michael Yapko will seek counsel from the American Psychological Association in reference to any complaint that is not resolved at this stage of the procedure.
Confidential records of all complaints, the process of resolving the complaint and the outcome will be scanned and kept in a secure computer as outlined above. A copy of this Complaint Procedure is available on the Dr. Yapko and Associates website at this link: https://yapko.com/complaint-procedure/
